I Published a New Book: Digital Accessibility and Compliance
Well, I finally finished it. My new book, Digital Accessibility and Compliance, is sitting on Amazon bookshelves as I type this.
I really like this one because I’ve distilled down everything someone needs to know for their project into an hour to an hour and a half read. The book includes the absolute essentials: WCAG, audits, and VPATs as well as other key subjects:
- Scans
- User Testing
- Remediation
- Overlays
- Overlay Widgets
- Certification
- Accessibility Statements
- Accessibility Policies
Towards the end, I go over two common client hypotheticals which cover the exact steps for 85% of the accessibility projects we work on.
I also talk about artificial intelligence and how to view and leverage AI in terms of accessibility.
It’s the book that I’d recommend anyone read to understand how to make their digital assets accessible and meet compliance requirements before they make a single purchase.
This way no money is wasted on unnecessary scans, overlays, AI tools, and any other similar “solutions” in the marketplace.
It’s a quick read and it’s an easy read. Even if someone has never heard of accessibility, they’ll be able to figure out all of the key concepts involved.
And it’s applicable to any law or regulation. I think a lot of people trying to work on compliance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) will find this very helpful.
Digital Accessibility and Compliance is available on Amazon now. You can purchase the paperback, download the Kindle ebook, or listen to it on Audible (in my chosen AI voice).
